Tidal shingle shore around Saint's Island
Saint's Island Shore is the broad shingle-and-gravel fringe around a small island in the Shannon Estuary near Clonmoney. The pale shore is clear in aerial imagery but lies within extensive tidal flats, and no public route, landing place or visitor facilities were confirmed. An 1837 account describes Saint's Island as fertile and inhabited by two families. A story later collected by the Irish Folklore Commission explains the island name through a McInerney family tale; it is preserved here as local folklore rather than established fact.
