Quiet tidal bay on the Shannon Estuary
Brew's Bridge Beach lies in a sheltered bay on the lower Shannon Estuary. The shore opens into broad tidal flats at low water, and Clare Heritage records it as a historically popular swimming place and a quieter local destination. Recent visitors mention a hardstanding parking area, but also a 2.10-metre height barrier and no turning space for larger vehicles. The bridge recalls the West Clare Railway, which ran here from 1887 until 1961, and the Brew family who lived nearby.
