About Clogherhead Beach
Clogherhead beach is a large open sandy beach that is gently sloping facing mainly to the east. The broad unnamed mapped geometry containing the official bathing point is consolidated here; Seapoint remains a separate official bathing section south of the river mouth. A July 2026 temporary prohibition was lifted after resampling. Public access is recorded, but water depth, levels, the usable shore and the final approach can change with weather and local conditions. Official information lists parking, toilets and seasonal lifeguard provision; check current availability and local notices before relying on them.
