About Trá Saorphort (Bóithrín Mags)

Trá Saorphort/Freeport (Mags Boreen) Beach is situated close to Bearna village centre, which is located circa 7kms west of Galway City. The beach can be accessed from the R336 coastal roadway, via Mags Boreen. Public access is recorded, but the usable shore and final approach can still change with tide, weather and local conditions. Treat it as an unserviced natural shore: do not assume parking, toilets or lifeguard cover, and check tide, weather and sea conditions before entering the water.
