About Mannin Bay Coral Strand

Mannin Bay located to the southwest of Clifden has a small roadside beach which you enter from the small car park. The sand is made up of the remains of a type of coralline seaweed and the skeletal remains of barnacles, molluscs and sponge. Public access is recorded, but the usable shore and final approach can still change with tide, weather and local conditions. Treat it as an unserviced natural shore: do not assume parking, toilets or lifeguard cover, and check tide, weather and sea conditions before entering the water.
